On January 28 2026, ITSRIGHT will
be one of the key participants at the European Parliament event “Music is
Work. Streaming: Data Transparency and Fair Remuneration,” promoted with
the support of the Italian S&D Delegation led by Nicola Zingaretti.
The meeting brings the issue of fair
remuneration for streaming rights back to the center of the European debate
for performers.
For some time now, ITSRIGHT has stood alongside the category in
what is a fight for equity and justice, denouncing the imbalances and lack of
transparency in a system that still excludes or inadequately compensates
musicians and singers, openly violating Italian and European regulations.
A delegation of artists will also be present,
including Mario Biondi and Poison Beatz, Eugenio Finardi, AUDIOCOOP, and
IMARA — a network representing the main international collecting societies for
artists’ and musicians’ neighbouring rights.
Several institutional representatives will also
attend, including the European Commission Executive Vice-President
Henna
Virkkunen.
