ASR
ASR (Annual Supplementary Remuneration) is a right to compensation granted to performers who took part in the creation of sound recordings released after November 1, 1963, and who do not receive recurring payments (i.e., do not receive any percentage-based royalties) from the record producer for their performances.
By law, ASR corresponds to 20% of the gross income earned by phonogram producers, from 2014 onwards, through the commercial use of eligible recordings.
This remuneration is paid by each relevant producer to the performing artists (or their heirs) through collective management organizations, such as ITSRIGHT, regardless of whether the artist (or their heirs) have granted a mandate for the management of this right.
